Problems accessing the CA or other Grid-Ireland websites over HTTPS with Firefox
The Grid-Ireland CA has recently (July 2011) replaced its root CA certificate in order to extend its valid lifetime to July 2017.
Firefox (and other Mozilla-based browsers) flag the replacement of a CA certificate in this way as a security error, as shown here:
This can be solved by re-importing the Grid-Ireland CA certificate into your browser:
- Delete the Grid-Ireland CA certificate from your browser (listed in Preferences - Advanced - Encryption - View Certificates - Authorities; select "Grid-Ireland Certification Authority" and click "Delete or Distrust...")
- Click this link to import the CA certificate: Grid-Ireland CA certificate
- Select the option to "Trust this CA to identify web sites."
It may be necessary to restart your browser after removing the old CA certificate and before importing the new one.
If you are continuing to have problems please contact the Grid-Ireland CA: ca@grid.ie
